Why We Should Get Rid Of Autism Labels

I think it's time to get rid of labels for autistics like high functioning,  low functioning, etc. I think this is damaging to autistics and can affect how they get support.
Balloon, Message, Talk, Say, Communication, Chat

When I went through that job program, the counselor I was given saw I was high-functioning autistic, look at one strength that I had. And said I wasn't autistic. This tells me people are under the impression that if you are high functioning, have some skills, that you are not autistic. People just judge what they see and don't dig deeper. As a result of having my autism ignored, I didn't get the help I needed during the program and it was really hard. With the coach constantly on my back for not sending out enough applications. Had my autism not been ignored the job coach would have been aware that my need for a job is more difficult than the other people in the program. Or I would have been told they could not help me. It seems like the place helps physical disabilities.

These labels give people the wrong idea about autism. They think high functioning=you have it easy
low functioning=you have it hard.

I think that could be why some of us get denied so many times when trying to get disability because SSI just looks at the label and the impression they get rather than the struggles you have.
SSI can see high functioning autistic, focus on only a small % of those with autism who work rather than the large % who are unemployed.

I think we would have a better experience if these labels are removed. I feel that folks are given the impression that the label speaks for how you experience autism. Just because someone has a skill doesn't mean they are not autistic. Autism does NOT affect your IQ, it just affects how you learn. As long as the person is getting the help they need, they will be alright. If they don't get the help that is needed of course it will be hard.

I think these labels cause our needs to get ignored when asking for help. I have mentioned how I end up getting help denied when I ask for it because I am seen as an adult.

I always like having a video and blog version of my content. I do it this way so if there are some things I forgot to mention in the video or the blog then I have another source for information.

There are different types of diabetes right? Everyone can experience the illness differently. How is autism any different? We don't go invalidating someone because their diabetes is different so why do that to us just because one may experience autism differently?

We need to stop grouping everyone together. 'There are people with autism who work so what's your excuse?' How do you know that they are not fighting to the death every day to keep their job? It's hard trying to function in a world for NTs. NTs don't have the issues that we face. I am for just saying someone has autism. No more medium functioning, low functioning.

An Open Letter To A Person I Admire

This is an open letter to a person I admire. I will have small subliminal hints since I get ridiculed for admiring someone.  I'm usually quiet about who I admire and out myself. Is this normal? Please excuse me, I am socially anxious. I am moving this from a different blog. I used to have 2 but 2 blogs is way too many. Is it normal to write a cryptic letter to a celebrity? I don't know how to go about things. I am not good a verbally expressing myself sometimes.  I really don't know how to start this letter/blog. It was easier for me to write this letter on my blog.  This is me saying in a subliminal way how Undertale gave me the things I rarely/never had. I felt as though my 9th-10th grade year of high school was rough and my 6th-grade year of Jr. High was rough.  I've struggled to make friends due to my autism/ADHD when I was in jr. high/high school. ( Sorry don't mean to get too personal here. I know I am a weirdo stranger on the intern...

Hate Is NOT Constructive Criticism

In the content creator industry, people have a very missed up thinking when it comes to feedback on YouTube (or anything). When will people learn the difference between explaining POLITELY why you didn't find a video helpful vs outright hating on that person's content just because YOU don't like it? I decided to work from home. I decided to build my cryptocurrency blogs such as Weku, Whaleshares, etc. I still want to do some freelance writing. I decided to vlog about my self-employment journey on YouTube in hopes that anything is hard but it's up to you to put in the time and effort. I made a video on why you should work from home. This guy, who clearly didn't watch the video, hated on it just because he didn't like it/my content. And some people tried to defend him saying it's criticism. Not showing names since I don't want a witch hunt. Here is the video if you wanna see it.  Another girl, who clearly didn't watch the video, defended tha...

Travel Diaries// Summer Friendship Festival 2013|| BEDIS day 22

These are my old travel photos. This was taken in 2013 when I went to a festival in Will County ( I think). It was about a 2-hour drive from Chicago. The country held this festival every summer. A lady I helped out over the summer sells things at these festivals so I went with her. I went 2 different days so you will see photos taken at different times ~All photos are from Pixabay.com I got a good view of this Farris Wheel. I did record a video as well. I might find my travel videos and post them to my Verond channel so I can link them on here. They weren't really vlogs just some clips that I randomly recorded of my trips. Everyone is out enjoying the festival. What is a travel trip without taking pictures?  Sometimes I take more copies of my photos to see which one I like better. When you look good enough, it is a good landscape of the trees.  There is the Starship ride. I didn't get on it because these rides make me super dizzy. I do not like bein...
