How To Start A Gaming Channel

This blog will cover how to start a gaming channel on YouTube. If you are a new/small YouTuber, you should start off light and work your way up. You should start with someone basic/cheap and then upgrade once you know you will stick with YouTube.

Hey, you want to start a YouTube gaming channel, but don't know where to start? Well stop your searching, you've come to the right place. I will share everything you need to start up your YouTube gaming channel. This blog will have affiliate links, this means I will get a small reward for showing you something cool at no extra cost to you. I will only show you products that I know of/use/trust.

Know What Content You Wanna Make:

Are you going to make let's plays, reviews, reaction videos? Figure that out. Don't listen to other people. Do what makes you happy. If you do something you have no interest, that will put off your viewers. Your topic may be too broad, at least you enjoy it.

Get Yourself a Mic: If you're just starting out. I would start out with a basic mic like this. Remember a new/small YouTuber is going to be clicking on this blog most likely and they won't have a ton of money or their folks are gonna buy them something and don't wanna spend too much money. If you've decided you want to upgrade your mic, then I suggest upgrading to a Blue Snowball.    Why spend more than you can afford. If your budget is 50 dollars, buy something that's under 30 dollars.

You will need some editing: If you're starting I would suggest iMovie if you're on a MAC. Moviemaker has been discontinued. You can use VSDC video editor, Wondershare Filmora, Hitfilm, etc for Windows users. Once you build your money then I would upgrade to Sony Vegas and other advanced editors.

Video Recorder: OBS is free if you're on a computer. If you're on PS4, Xbox.  I suggest something like this.  Remember I'm linking basic cheap stuff because when you're a small channel, you don't have that much money.

A Computer:  Regardless of what your gaming on, you will need a computer for editing. Most editors require good CPUs, GPUs and RAM to run effectively, so you're gonna have to do some investing. It really depends on what you wanna do. If you want something basic and plan on using a basic editor. This laptop should be able to run Wondershare Filmora. I can run Filmora and the computer I use has AMD Radeon graphics with a weak CPU or 1.34ghz. You can GPU render with Filmora. This laptop is your best bet. Otherwise, with 4GB RAM you will have choppy playback in your editor. I still would ask your tech-savvy friend to make sure. This would be good for storing your videos. This laptop should be able to handle the VSDC editor. I have major issues with VSDC because of my RAM. RAM is most important with the performance of your editor as well as GPU/CPU.
Even though you're going to use an editor that can run on a potato, still you need at least 8GB of RAM for better performance with your editor.

Get Yourself Some Headphones: You will need headphones because if your mic is close enough to your computer speakers, your overall audio will have an echo which will put off the viewers. I suggest some headphones like these.

I made a video about this topic as well. Feel free to check that out.  I suggest you buy this equipment little by little. You can bookmark this blog so you can refer to it if you need to.

Why Your Channel Isn't Growing On YouTube

It's hard not to blame YouTube's algorithm for the reason you're not growing. It's particularly on YouTube for not alerting the subscribers of your uploads. It's not all on YouTube though. It's somewhat their fault why you're not growing. Channel Appearance , does your channel make people want to check it out? Of course, no one is going to stick around if your channel has no banner, profile picture, attention-grabbing thumbnails. There are several tutorials you can look up on how to make graphics for your channel. Or you can pay someone on Fiverr to make graphics for you. Think of it as a book, the book has to have an attention-grabbing cover to make you wanna buy it. Or a movie, the movie has to have a good poster to get you to go see it. Sometimes, looks do matter. Sometimes, you do judge a book by its cover. I admit I don't have Photoshop skills. You can do some basic things on there. Your Channel Has No SEO ,  this is how people will find your v...

Hate Is NOT Constructive Criticism

In the content creator industry, people have a very missed up thinking when it comes to feedback on YouTube (or anything). When will people learn the difference between explaining POLITELY why you didn't find a video helpful vs outright hating on that person's content just because YOU don't like it? I decided to work from home. I decided to build my cryptocurrency blogs such as Weku, Whaleshares, etc. I still want to do some freelance writing. I decided to vlog about my self-employment journey on YouTube in hopes that anything is hard but it's up to you to put in the time and effort. I made a video on why you should work from home. This guy, who clearly didn't watch the video, hated on it just because he didn't like it/my content. And some people tried to defend him saying it's criticism. Not showing names since I don't want a witch hunt. Here is the video if you wanna see it.  Another girl, who clearly didn't watch the video, defended tha...

What You Will Need To Start Photography

Photography can be a fun hobby. It's an expensive hobby. This will be a guild to how you can be a photographer on a budget. Why spend more than you can afford? This blog will have affiliate links. I will just get a small reward for showing you some stuff at no extra cost for you. I will just suggest a few items. I suggest slowly building your gear. Get Yourself A Camera While your phone can work if you are just getting started, you are going to need a camera if you are going to be serious about photography. Your phone has restrictions like storage space. I always have issues with storage space on my phone. I record vlogs as well as photography and it's rough. I would highly recommend making a wish list of things you are interested in buying. You will need some photo editor apps. You can use canva, photoshop, lightroom, pixlr and many more. Editing your photos will make them look so much better. You Are Going To Need A Camera bag It's not really a requirement, b...
